Welcome to the BACG annual meeting 2018 website!
The 2018 annual conference of the British Association of Crystal Growth (BACG) will take place at the University of Limerick, from 20th to 22nd June.
We are preparing an exciting programme detailing the latest developments in the areas of Crystallisation Fundamentals, Crystal Growth, Polymorphism, Multicomponent Materials, Modelling and new sessions on Interesting Crystal Properties and Alternative Routes to Crystalline Materials.
BACG Conference 2018 will include keynote lectures, contributed lectures, vendor exhibitions, posters, "Crystals in Art" competition, as well as the BACG Annual Lecture and Young Scientist of the Year Award. We will have a number of Plenary Sessions with established speakers, followed by engaging panel discussions.
On 19th June, we are delighted to announce two very special pre-conference events:
Solid State NMR Capabilities in Ireland and their Application to Solid-State Structure and Dynamics - A Workshop
Solid state NMR spectroscopists and users from Trinity College Dublin, Waterford Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick will gather on Tuesday morning to discuss some of structural and dynamic data they have elucidated on different materials using their individual systems. Dr Joseph Lubach from Genentech will lead a discussion on industrial uses of solid state NMR and we look forward to some innovative ideas on how SSNMR can increase our structural and dynamic understanding of solid state materials.
BACG 2018 PhD Student Conference
Arranged by PhD students for PhD students to promote student interaction and networking with their peer group, this half day conference will feature flash presentations and e-poster sessions. This will continue into the evening with a social event in our on campus student bar.
Sincere thanks to our vendors and sponsors for supporting this event.
We are delighted to invite you to participate in the BACG 2018 and we look forward to seeing many of you in Limerick.
